The Wildflower Sculpture Park was established in 2012 as a program of the South Mountain Conservancy in collaboration with the Essex County Department of Parks and Cultural Affairs

Artists are encouraged to explore themes of renewal and environmental harmony while emphasizing the visitor’s journey into and through the Wildflower & Forest Preserve, as well as the larger Reservation.

The Work





My project, titled "The Work," seeks to celebrate and honor the individuals who maintain and sustain the South Mountain Reservation. I endeavor to capture the essential role these workers play in preserving the park and ensuring it remains accessible to the community.



Each portrait will center on a specific tool or piece of equipment a worker uses in their daily tasks. Beneath each portrait will be a quote or short story offering insight into how the worker's labor contributes to the health of the park and the visitor experience.



The Work will open in September 2025.
